Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday dismantled illegal structures at public parks in Rajendranagar mandal, Ranga Reddy district, and reclaimed prime land valued at over Rs 139 crore.
Four parks cleared of encroachments
The operation targeted four parks in Janachaitanya Layout Phases I and II across Badvel and Upparapalli villages. Residents had lodged complaints that public spaces intended for parks were being occupied illegally. HYDRA, along with revenue and municipal officials, conducted thorough inspections before confirming encroachments.

19,878 sq. yards of land reclaimed
HYDRAA successfully reclaimed 19,878 square yards of parkland that had been illegally occupied. Encroachers had constructed unauthorized sheds, rooms, and boundary walls on plots ranging from 500 to 3,000 square yards each.
Demolition of unauthorized structures
The authority demolished all illegal structures and removed temporary shelters to restore the land to its intended purpose. Immediate steps have been initiated to erect fencing around the reclaimed areas to prevent future encroachments.

Parks to be restored for public use
Spread across approximately 120 acres under the HUDA-approved layout, these parks will now be preserved and maintained for public recreation. Officials emphasized that the operation underscores HYDRAA’s commitment to safeguarding community spaces and ensuring urban development regulations are followed.
