The arrest of iBOMMA operator Ravi brought only a short relief to the film industry and police. Even though the original piracy site was taken down, the menace of online piracy continues to grow. Like a mythical creature that grows a new head when one is cut off, a new website called “iBOMMA One” has suddenly appeared and shocked everyone.
This new website is not the real iBOMMA. It is using the same trusted name to mislead people. When users open “iBOMMA One,” they see posters of the latest movies and feel excited. But when they click to watch a film, they are redirected to another major piracy site, MovieRulz. This shows that someone is using the iBOMMA brand name to divert traffic to other illegal websites, turning it into a clever scam.
During early investigation, police discovered surprising details. They now believe that iBOMMA was not just a single website but a large ecosystem. Reports suggest it has nearly 65 mirror sites connected to it. Even if the main website is shut down, these backup sites can continue piracy operations. Though operator Ravi is in jail, the activity of the network clearly shows that his team outside is still active.
Because of this, film industry leaders say attacking only iBOMMA is not enough. They are demanding a permanent ban on big piracy websites like MovieRulz, Tamil Rockers, and Tamil One. Producers argue that arresting one person will not stop the problem, and only blocking all active piracy domains can protect filmmakers from heavy losses.
Cyber police are also warning the public about serious risks. Clicking on such new links for free movies can expose personal data to hackers. They remind people that “nothing is truly free,” and using piracy sites means risking your own privacy and security.
For now, iBOMMA operator Ravi remains in remand, and some filmmakers are even planning a movie about his life. But in reality, his arrest is only a small win in a much larger battle. The sudden rise of “iBOMMA One” shows that online piracy is still strong, and much more effort is needed to control this fast-growing digital threat.
