India ended day two of the first Test against the West Indies at 448 for 5, taking a strong lead of 286 runs, thanks to centuries by KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja on Friday.
Jadeja (104*) and Washington Sundar (9*) were unbeaten at the end of play. Jadeja and Jurel built a solid 206-run partnership for the fifth wicket, putting the home team in a commanding position.
For 24-year-old Jurel, this was his first-ever hundred in Test cricket.
Earlier in the day, KL Rahul scored a well-made 100 before getting out shortly after lunch.
India had resumed at 121 for 2 and lost captain Shubman Gill (50) in the morning session. Rahul was dismissed soon after the break.
On day one, India had bowled out the West Indies for just 162.
