K.S. Rama Rao Brings Thriller ‘Rakshasapuram’ to Telugu Screens on May 1

Veteran producer K. S. Rama Rao is set to introduce Kannada hit Rakshasapura to Telugu audiences as Rakshasapuram. Backed by his prestigious Creative Commercials banner, the mystery thriller is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on May 1.
Speaking about the film, Rama Rao said he was highly impressed after watching the original version. He praised its gripping screenplay, rich production values, and edge-of-the-seat suspense. Believing the story deserved a wider audience, he decided to bring it to Telugu viewers. He also appreciated lead actor Raj B. Shetty for his intense performance as a police inspector.
The producer also shared the thought behind choosing May 1 as the release date. With the public holiday on May Day, the team expects more families and working-class audiences to visit theatres. Keeping the ongoing IPL season in mind, he reportedly suggested focusing on morning and matinee shows so moviegoers can enjoy the film before evening cricket matches begin.
Rama Rao admitted that the film industry is currently facing challenges due to IPL viewership and growing OTT competition. However, he expressed confidence that quality content always finds its audience, especially in theatres.
Veteran producer Tummala Ramasatyanarayana also attended the event and extended his support, stating that Rama Rao’s experience and strong cinematic judgment would help the film succeed.
With post-production formalities nearly complete and the trailer expected soon, Rakshasapuram is all set to thrill Telugu audiences this May 1.
