The strong box office opening of One Battle After Another benefited everybody involved. Not only has the action film already become the second-biggest hit of director Paul Thomas Anderson‘s career, it has also helped push star Leonardo DiCaprio further up the list of the highest-grossing actors of all time. One Battle After Another marked DiCaprio’s 11th $20 million-plus debut at the domestic box office, which must’ve come as a big relief for Warner Bros. The studio has invested handsomely in the project, banking on Anderson’s abilities and DiCaprio’s star power at a time when original films of this size are rarely green-lit.
