South Africa Women’s cricket team were bowled out for just 69 runs in their opening game of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup game against England on Friday. This marked the 77th lowest total by a team in the history of the marquee event. The record for the lowest total in the tournament is currentl held by Pakistan, after being bowled out for 27 runs against Australia in 1997.

SA crumble for 69
Within the first six overs, England Women reduced Soth Africa to four wickets down, with Linsey Smith getting three wickets while Lauren Bell got one. Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean got 2 wickets each to bundle out SAW for just 69 runs in 20.4 overs.
