Nat Sciver-Brunt has entered the Women’s ODI World Cup history books. The England captain scored an incredible lone-warrior hundred against Sri Lanka Women at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to become the first woman to score 5 hundreds in the Women’s ODI World Cup.

The record for most centuries in the most prestigious ICC tournament had belonged to former England captain and current head coach Charlotte Edwards, who had scored 4 hundreds in 29 innings. But now, this record belongs to Sciver-Brunt.

Most hundreds in Women’s ODI World Cup

Batter Span Inns Runs HS Avg SR 100s 50s
Nat Sciver-Brunt (ENG-W) 2017-2025 19 954 148* 59.62 98.35 5 2
Charlotte Edwards (ENG-W) 1997-2013 28 1231 173* 53.52 73.62 4 7
Suzie Bates (NZ-W) 2009-2025 29 1208 168 50.33 84.29 4 5
Janette Brittin (ENG-W) 1982-1997 35 1299 138* 43.30 60.40 4 3
Claire Taylor (ENG-W) 2000-2009 18 856 137* 61.14 77.11 3 4

Sciver-Brunt played a run-a-ball innings of 117. Without context, this looks like any other hundred. But when you take into account that 32 was the highest score for any other England batter, you understand how marvellous the knock was. Fascinatingly, six of the top registered double-digit scores, but none went to score even a fifty.

After 35 overs, England were 168/6. Sciver-Brunt was 63 (73). In the remaining 15 overs, England scored 85 runs. Of these 85, the England captain scored 54 runs from 44 balls. Considering the pitch and the little batting they had left, it was an exceptional comeback.

This was also Sciver-Brunt’s 10th ODI hundred for England. She overtook her coach again in the record for most hundreds for England in Women’s ODIs. Now, only Tammy Beaumont stands ahead of her.

Most hundreds for England in Women’s ODI

  • 12 – Tammy Beaumont (125 innings)
  • 10 – Nat Sciver-Brunt (110 innings)
  • 9 – Charlotte Edwards (180 innings)
  • 8 – Claire Taylor (120 innings)
