NZW vs BANW Playing 11: Sophie Devine-led New Zealand will square off in the 11th match of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on Nigar Sultana-led Bangladesh on October 10 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

New Zealand Women are winless in the ongoing tournament, losing back-to-back games. First, they suffered an 89-run defeat against Australia Women and then went on to lose a game against South Africa by 6 wickets.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has one win out of two games they played so far in the tournament. They secured a 7-wicket victory against Pakistan but suffered a 4-wicket loss against England.

With Bangladesh secured a position in the top four, New Zealand are reeling at the second bottom of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 points table.

New Zealand and Bangladesh have met on 4 occasions in ODI format, where New Zealand secured win 2 wins and two games ended in no result.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat. Speaking at the toss, Sophie Devine said, “We are gonna have a bat first today, it’s a used wicket so we want to have a first crack at it. We will back ourselves to put a total on the board and then defend it.”

“We have done some things right but we haven’t maintainted it for a long period. We want to be consistent with our bowling so we need to keep it simple. One change for us,” concluded Devine.

Meanwhile Nigar Sultana said, “We wanted to bowl first, our bowlers have been doing well in the first two games so we wanted to give them a freebie. It’s a very good opportunity for us, we want to play our A game here. We have two changes.”
