Malayalam star hero Tovino Thomas is all set to entertain audiences across India with his upcoming big-budget pan-India film “Pallichattambi.” Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the period emotional action entertainer is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on April 10 in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Ahead of the release, the makers hosted a grand release press meet in Hyderabad, where the cast and team shared exciting details about the film and expressed confidence that the movie will connect with audiences everywhere.
Speaking at the event, Tovino Thomas called Pallichattambi a dream project that has been in the making for years. He said he and director Dijo Jose Antony had been planning the film for a long time, and he was happy that it had finally come to life on such a big scale. Tovino revealed that the movie is set in the 1950s, and the team put in a lot of effort and research to recreate that era with authenticity. At the same time, he said the story has been told in a way that today’s audience can strongly connect with. He added that only a passionate team could make a film like this possible and expressed confidence that from April 10, Pallichattambi will no longer belong only to the team, but will become everyone’s movie.
Director Dijo Jose Antony said that Pallichattambi is his fourth film as a director and that he is excited to present it to Telugu audiences. He mentioned that Telugu viewers appreciated his earlier film “Jana Gana Mana”, and he hopes this film too will receive the same love. He explained that Pallichattambi has a simple but powerful story rooted in the idea that all humans are one. According to him, the movie carries the emotional theme of “Love, Live, Love” and presents a story that reflects human struggles, emotions, and social realities that remain relevant even as times and politics change. He also said that the title Pallichattambi itself represents an important character and concept in the story, which is why the same title has been retained in all languages.
Actress Kayadu Lohar, who plays the female lead, said the film is very special to her and described her character Rebecca as one of the most memorable roles of her career. She shared that the role is very close to her heart and that audiences will not only like the character’s beauty but also her emotional strength and personality. Kayadu thanked director Dijo for giving her such a meaningful role and said the film has been a long and emotional journey for the entire team. She also praised Tovino Thomas as a very inspiring co-star and said audiences will leave theatres with a deep emotional feeling after watching the film.
At the event, several members of the team spoke warmly about the film and the effort behind it. Actor Shatru, who is making his Malayalam film debut with Pallichattambi, said he was immediately impressed when he heard the story and found it very interesting. Lyricist Rambabu Gosala, who wrote the songs for the Telugu version, said this is his third film with Tovino Thomas after Mayanadhi and Vyuham. Associate Producer Meghashyam described the movie as an emotional action entertainer and said the entire team worked extremely hard to bring quality output to the screen. He also mentioned that this is his second film with both Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar and requested audiences to watch and support the film in theatres.
Producer Chanakya said the film has been made in a way that will appeal to all sections of the audience, while producer Chaitanya called the movie a very special first attempt for them as producers. Producer Charan emotionally said that going from Nellore to Kerala and making such a big Malayalam film was a proud journey for them. He praised Tovino Thomas for becoming like family during the making and said the actor’s performance will surprise everyone. He also said Kayadu Lohar has delivered a role that will remain memorable in her career.
Supporting the Telugu release, producer and distributor Bunny Vas shared strong confidence in the film’s potential. He said he was genuinely surprised to see Telugu producers go to Kerala and make such a technically grand Malayalam film. According to him, Pallichattambi feels like a fresh commercial entertainer for Telugu audiences and breaks the common assumption that Malayalam films are only concept-driven or subtle in presentation. He said this film is mounted on a large scale and offers a new kind of commercial cinema experience. Bunny Vas also compared Tovino Thomas’s screen presence and action performance in the film to Mohanlal, calling it highly impressive. He added that Kayadu Lohar is likely to gain many more fans after the film and appreciated director Dijo’s execution and editing.
The film is being produced by Noufal, Brijeesh, Chanukya, Chaitanya, and Charan under the banners of World Wide Films and C Cube Bros Entertainments.
