Pushpa 2 Set for Grand Release in Japan as ‘Pushpa Kunrin’

Japan is preparing for the arrival of Icon Star Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s much-awaited blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule. Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings have teamed up with Japanese distributors Geek Pictures and Shochiku to release the film across Japan on January 16, 2026, under the local title Pushpa Kunrin. The announcement came with a warm greeting, “Konnichiwa, Nihon no Tomo yo,” along with a specially dubbed Japanese trailer and striking new posters that showcase Allu Arjun’s powerful Pushpa Raj look.
The film has already created history worldwide, becoming an “industry hit” after its massive release in five Indian languages on December 5, 2024. As the sequel to the first Pushpa sensation, the second part continues the gripping journey of Pushpa Raj with even bigger scale, drama, and action. Reports earlier suggested that the makers were aiming for a stronger global appeal, shaping parts of the story to connect with international audiences. Sukumar’s direction once again leads the way, while Allu Arjun has consistently credited his entire success to the filmmaker’s vision.
The film features music by Devi Sri Prasad, whose soundtrack played a huge role in the movie’s global popularity. Fahadh Faasil returns as the fierce cop, and Rashmika Mandanna’s performance, especially in the Jathara sequence, has received widespread appreciation. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is now all set to take its swag, style, and story to Japanese fans with a grand theatrical release.
