Kannada star Rishab Shetty recently gave a speech in Telugu at the pre-release event of Kantara Chapter 1 in Vijayawada. Earlier, at the Hyderabad event, he spoke in Kannada, which sparked a debate on social media. Now, Rishab has clarified his stance.
He said, “I don’t know Telugu very well. That’s why I spoke in Kannada in Hyderabad. Thanks to everyone supporting me here. I’m grateful to Junior NTR and Prabhas for releasing the trailer. Thanks to Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for increasing ticket rates.”
Rishab also added that in his next movie, he will speak fully in Telugu and is trying to connect with Telugu audiences. “Kannada and Telugu people are like brothers. Everyone should watch Kantara 1 on October 2,” he said.
Meanwhile, the AP government has approved increased ticket prices: Rs. 75 (plus GST) for single-screen theaters and Rs. 100 (plus GST) for multiplexes. The movie team thanked the government for the support.
