Sandhya 70mm Theatre Stampede Case: Chargesheet Filed Against 23 Accused

The Hyderabad City Police have completed the investigation into the Sandhya 70mm Theatre stampede case and filed a chargesheet before the Hon’ble Court on December 24, 2025. Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar stated that the probe was carried out in a comprehensive and detailed manner, covering all aspects related to the incident.
According to the police, a total of 23 accused have been chargesheeted in the case. Of them, 14 accused were arrested during the course of the investigation, while 9 accused, who obtained anticipatory bail, were served notices. The investigation clearly established lapses in planning, crowd management, security arrangements, and coordination among the theatre management, event organisers, private security personnel, and others involved at the time of the incident.
The chargesheet names partners and staff of Sandhya 70mm Theatre, event organisers, security personnel, bouncers, and others. Cine actor Allu Arjun and members of his team have also been named as accused in connection with the case.

Police officials stated that further proceedings in the case will continue as per law, and strict action will be ensured against all those found responsible for the lapses that led to the stampede.
