Sanober Shaikh, the daughter of alleged former Mumbai gangster Hussain Ustara, has moved the court seeking to halt the release of Shahid Kapoor’s forthcoming film O’ Romeo. She contends that the movie draws heavily from her father’s life, who was reportedly a notorious figure in Mumbai’s underworld.
Hussain Ustara is said to have had a long-running feud with Dawood Ibrahim. In her plea, Shaikh has requested the court to order a pre-release screening of the film and appoint a court commissioner, or any suitable authority, to examine its content and submit a report.
The legal action, filed by advocate D.V. Saroj, names producer Sajid Nadiadwala, director Vishal Bhardwaj, and the author of the book from which the movie has drawn inspiration. Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah, and Disha Patani play key roles in this gangster action drama.
Shaikh further stated that her father was a journalist in Mumbai who worked closely with multiple government agencies, including the Mumbai Police and the Intelligence Bureau, helping curb criminal activities across the country, especially in the city. We need to see if this issue will create any trouble for the film’s theatrical release. The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 13, 2026.The post Shahid Kapoor’s new film O’ Romeo lands in legal tussle first appeared on Latest Telugu cinema news | Movie reviews | OTT Updates, OTT.
