Actor Sharwanand, popularly known as Charming Star Sharwa, is stepping into a completely different and intense zone with his upcoming pan-India period action drama Bhogi. Directed by blockbuster filmmaker Sampath Nandi, the film is being produced on a grand scale by KK Radhamohan under the banner of Sri Sathya Sai Arts and presented by Lakshmi Radhamohan. The project is already generating strong buzz and is expected to become one of the most ambitious films in Sharwanand’s career.
The makers recently unveiled the film’s powerful first-look poster, which received an overwhelming response from fans and movie lovers. Adding to the excitement, the team released a special birthday poster for Sharwanand, giving a closer glimpse of his intense transformation for the film.
In the new poster, Sharwanand appears in a strikingly massy and rugged avatar. He sports thick, messy hair and a dense beard, giving him a raw and rebellious appearance. A beedi hanging from his lips, with smoke slowly drifting out, adds to the attitude of the character. His slightly sweaty and textured face enhances the gritty realism of the role, while his stern expression and sharp gaze hint at a fierce and uncompromising personality. The poster reflects a darker and more intense side of Sharwanand that audiences have rarely seen before.
The film carries the intriguing tagline “A Blood Fest,” suggesting a story filled with intense action and emotional drama. According to the makers, Sharwanand plays a rustic and highly intense character in Bhogi, marking one of the most challenging roles of his career. His makeover has already become a major talking point among fans and industry circles.
Director Sampath Nandi is setting the story in a rugged period backdrop along the North Telangana–Maharashtra border during the late 1960s. The narrative is deeply rooted in that era, promising a raw and realistic atmosphere that adds depth to the storytelling. The period setting, combined with powerful action sequences, is expected to give the film a unique visual and emotional appeal.
The film’s shooting is currently progressing in Hyderabad, where the team is filming a high-octane action sequence on a massive set specially constructed for the project. The scale of production indicates that the makers are aiming for a visually grand cinematic experience.
Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi play the female leads in the movie, while several prominent actors are expected to appear in key supporting roles, adding strength to the ensemble cast.
On the technical side, the film brings together an experienced team.
Cinematography is handled by Kishore Kumar Arokia, while Kiran Kumar Manne is responsible for production design. Music for the film is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, who is known for delivering energetic soundtracks. The action sequences are choreographed by stunt master Dilip Subbarayan.
Bhogi is being planned as a pan-India release and will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi to reach audiences across the country. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on August 28, coinciding with the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
With Sharwanand’s intense makeover, a powerful period setting, and Sampath Nandi’s mass storytelling style, Bhogi is already building strong anticipation among fans and movie enthusiasts.
