Dhurandhar happens to be the biggest hit of Indian cinema in the recent years. The Hindi version alone shattered all the existing records and the film also registered record footfalls. Dhurandhar is now streaming on Netflix starting from today in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. All those who watched the film in theatres are waiting to watch the uncut version on digital streaming platform Netflix. Speculations also said that the director’s cut will be available with a length spanning for 15 minutes more.
But the censored version of Dhurandhar is now streaming on Netflix with a reduced runtime of ten minutes when compared to the theatrical runtime. Fans are furious as there are a number of muted dialogues in the digital version. After being certified as ‘A’ rated, there is no point in muting dialogues, said netizens after the Netflix release. With the final runtime trimmed by ten minutes, all those who watched the film on Netflix were disappointed and they expressed their anger through social media. Some of them posted saying that there is no point in censoring the OTT version again after the theatrical release.
Dhurandhar is a film for the audience over 18 years and there is no point in muting words and chopping episodes. Dhurandhar is also the most awaited film in the digital space. Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun played the lead roles. Aditya Dhar is the director and Jio Studios bankrolled this spy thriller. The second installment of Dhurandhar is slated for March 19th release this year.
