STF arrests man for defrauding real estate company of over ₹6 crore, ETRealty

PRAYAGRAJ: The UP Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday arrested a man wanted in connection with duping a real estate firm of Rs 6.40 crore.

The accused, Neeraj Kumar Jaiswal alias Sullu, was arrested near the new bridge underpass on the road leading to Minto Park and Mankameshwar Temple.

According to STF officials, intelligence input revealed that the accused was hiding in the Kydganj area. Acting swiftly, a team led by sub-inspector Dharmendra Singh conducted a raid and arrested the accused.

During questioning, Jaiswal of Kashiraj Nagar in Mutthiganj area said he worked as an agent for Sangam Construction Company since 2016. Over the years, he along with his aide Sudhir Keserwani created forged documents and embezzled around Rs 6.40 crore from the company.

Later, when he was questioned by the owner, he returned Rs 75 lakh. When he failed to return the remaining amount, the company’s proprietor lodged a complaint against him and his associate at George Town Police Station.

Subsequently, investigation revealed offences under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the issuance of a non-bailable warrant and public notice, Jaiswal fled to Nepal. Later, the case was transferred to the STF on the orders of UP director general of police.

STF officials confirmed that the accused has multiple criminal records, with nine cases registered across five police stations in Prayagraj, including four in Mutthiganj, two in Kydganj, and one each in Koraon, George Town and Industrial Area police station. The arrested accused has been handed over to the George Town Police for further legal proceedings.
