Hyderabad: Madhu Sudan, co-founder of the Str8bat (the others being Gagan Daga and Rahul Nagar) which is said to be a revolutionary technology designed with the specific objective of improving the performance levels of a batter, says that cricket will be a totally different game for all those beginners and the established stars too.
“Our deep tech company Str8bat is essentially aimed at capturing all date courtesy sensors fixed on the cricket bat when the batter plays the game out there in the nets or in a match,” Madhu Sudan informed ‘Telangana Today’ during his visit to the City on Tuesday.
“This is a technology which helps the batter to know lots of metrics about his batting skills thanks to the sensors like the bat speed, impact, sweet spot on the willow, wagon wheel, pointing out flaws and essentially helping him to know what better he can do,” he said. “This technology is like a reality check,” he added.
“No we are not trying to replace the coach. This technology will only help the coach in getting those invaluable tips. And, 91 per cent of those who preferred this technology said they got better and faster,” Madhu Sudan said.
“Str8bat is like a lab where all the tests are done and the report card will be ready for the batter to take up necessary follow-up action,” he said with a big smile.
“The fact that the highly professional Cricket Australia is our major client and that Rajasthan Royals adapts this technology, especially during the selection trials is proof of this technology’s growing credibility,” the top official said.
“Let me explain two instances without naming the big names in world cricket for obvious reasons. One of the acknowledged big-hitters of Rajasthan Royals was struggling to get going in the IPL even though he was hitting the ball well in the nets. After using this technology and after a slight adjustment, courtesy Str8bat, saw complete turn-around in his fortunes. Similarly, an all time great in Test cricket who was not able to score runs in white ball format used this technology facilitating a four degree shift in bat angle increased his bat speed by 157 pre cent to make amends and started scoring runs,” Madhu Sudan explained.
“We have spent about two years on extensive research to come up with the right technology in this regard. All it takes for a batter to be a much better one is a few seconds of calibration after fixing the Classic sensor costing Rs 6499 and St8batPro costing Rs 7999,” he said.
“We have expanded now to 10 cricketing nations so far and the growing number is proof of the increasing popularity of this technology,” Madhu Sudan stressed even while acknowledging the contribution of partners Moiz of P3 Sports and Ankit of Actifyz.
