Hyderabad: In a dramatic, movie-like incident, Dundigal Police Inspector Kiran and his team nabbed a fraud accused after a tense chase near Medchal railway station on Friday night.
The suspect, identified as Khayyum, was wanted in a cheating case involving Rs 25 lakh registered at Dundigal police station.
Acting on a tip-off that Khayyum was at the Medchal railway station around 10 pm, Detective Inspector Kiran rushed to the spot with his team.
On spotting the police, Khayyum tried to flee across the railway tracks. However, Kiran and his staff chased him for nearly 2.5 kilometres before nabbing him.
Police said Khayum would be produced before court and further investigation was on.
