The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday called the harassment of two members of the Australian women’s cricket team in Indore unfortunate and said it damages India’s reputation.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla stated that all necessary safety measures will be ensured.
“The entire incident is very unfortunate, and we condemn it. We will take all the required precautions. The Police have nabbed the accused,” Rajeev Shukla said, speaking to ANI news agency.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia also expressed the same view and praised the quick response of the Madhya Pradesh Police.

“It is a very unfortunate incident. This type of incident brings disrepute. We appreciate the State Police (Madhya Pradesh) for their prompt action to nab the culprit. Let the law take its course to punish the culprit,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said.
Two Australian women cricketers taking part in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup were reportedly followed, and one was harassed, by a man on a motorcycle in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The incident happened on Thursday morning on Khajrana Road when the players left their hotel to visit a nearby cafe. According to Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi, the man on the motorcycle chased them and inappropriately touched one of the players before escaping.
