A video of US President Donald Trump leaning forward as Secretary of State Marco Rubio whispers something in his ear during a White House roundtable event has gone viral. The internet users compared it to the iconic moment when former President George W Bush was informed of the 9/11 attacks. What’s ‘Second Whisper’?The viral scene, now being dubbed “A Second Whisper,” mirrors the 2001 moment when then Chief of Staff Andy Card quietly told Bush, “A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack,” while he was reading to schoolchildren in Florida. Memes flooded social media, with one user joking, “Sir, a second whisper meme has hit the internet.” Another user wrote, “Sir, another whispering-to-the-President meme has surfaced.”Trump’s Roundtable Event At White HouseThe whisper happened during Trump’s roundtable with right-wing influencers at the White House on Wednesday. Rubio entered the room, greeted the president, and after leaning in to whisper, handed him a handwritten note.Moments later, Trump told reporters, “I was just given a note by the Secretary of State saying we’re very close to a deal in the Middle East, and they’re going to need me pretty quickly.”According to a photograph circulating online, the note read, “We need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce the deal first.” Trump said the event had been delayed because he was speaking with Middle Eastern leaders about peace talks to end the two-year-long Israel-Hamas war.He said that negotiations in Egypt, involving representatives from Israel, Hamas, Egypt, and other Arab states, along with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, were close to finalizing a 20-point ceasefire proposal, as per Reuters report.“We have a great team over there, great negotiators,” Trump said. “There’s a very good chance a deal could happen sometime toward the end of the week,” he added. The President also hinted that he might travel to Egypt or Gaza to observe conditions firsthand. “Yeah, I would. I might do that,” he said. “I’ll be going to Egypt, that’s where everybody is gathered right now,” he added.Israel-Hamas TensionHamas representatives said talks were focused on a ceasefire, Israeli troop withdrawal, and a prisoner-hostage swap. Israel, however, continues to demand that Hamas disarm. The potential prisoner list reportedly includes prominent Palestinians Marwan al-Barghouti and Ahmed Saadat, both serving life sentences. Despite Trump’s call for Israel to halt bombing last week, Gaza health officials reported eight new deaths in recent Israeli strikes, the lowest toll in weeks.
