ZEE5 has released the much-awaited trailer of Nayanam, a high-concept Telugu original that blends psychological drama with a sharp sci-fi twist. Starring Varun Sandesh and Priyanka Jain, the series begins streaming on December 19 and has already drawn strong attention after a grand launch event in Hyderabad. The platform, known for pushing new creative boundaries in regional content, is promoting Nayanam as one of its most experimental Telugu originals yet.
The trailer introduces Nayan, a man who can watch someone’s present as though viewing a live feed, setting the stage for a story where human perception turns into a dangerous weapon. Directed by debut filmmaker Swathi Prakash Mantripragada, Nayanam marks a fresh attempt to merge psychological tension with inventive sci-fi storytelling for Telugu OTT viewers.
Music director Ajay Arasada said he was instantly drawn to the unusual theme and shaped the score to reflect the characters’ internal worlds rather than traditional compositions. Editor Venkata Krishna shared that the editing rhythm was meant to feel like entering someone’s mind, making the project deeply satisfying to work on. Cinematographer Shoaib Siddiqui highlighted the challenge of building a visual style that felt grounded yet eerie, supported by the entire SRT team.
Actor Ali Reza spoke emotionally about how the role arrived at a crucial point in his career. After a slowdown in film offers, Nayanam reignited his passion for acting, and he described playing a police officer in this series as refreshing and meaningful. Senior ZEE5 executives including Jayanth Raghavan, Saiteja Desiraju and Anuradha Gudur praised the script’s originality, calling it one of the strongest additions to their 2025 Telugu slate.
Executive Producer Vidyasagar credited the music, visuals and performances for elevating Swathi’s vision, while Producer Rajini Talluri noted that their continued collaboration with ZEE5 has strengthened the team’s creative synergy.
