Hyderabad’s GHMC Town Planning wing, under “Operation ROPE,” cleared approximately 70 illegal encroachments from footpaths and roads along the Gaganpahad to Katedan stretch on Saturday.
The operation, conducted with police protection and utilizing two bulldozers, aimed to address pedestrian obstruction and traffic congestion. GHMC Rajendranagar Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar emphasized that the demolitions were part of an ongoing effort to improve traffic flow and facilitate road widening in the Rajendranagar area.
“We are clearing these illegal structures to ensure free movement of traffic and pedestrians,” stated Ravi Kumar. “We have repeatedly warned residents and shopkeepers against encroaching on public spaces, as it causes significant inconvenience.”
The GHMC reiterated its commitment to maintaining clear and accessible public areas, and urged citizens to refrain from illegal encroachments.
