Ginny Wedss Sunny 2, starring Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr in the lead roles, opened on a dismal note. As per estimates, the romantic comedy drama, directed by Prasshant Jha, collected in the vicinity of Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh on its opening day at the Indian box office. That’s a poor start to say the least.
The dull opening of the romantic comedy drama was already expected as it couldn’t impress the audience with its promotional assets, including trailer and songs, which would have helped it take a reasonable start.
The movie needs to show miraculous growth over the weekend in order to reach a respectable total. Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 opened to mixed-bag reactions among the audience, which must be concerning for the makers. The romantic drama was always meant to be a low starter, but it would have seen a good growth if it had received a positive reception. But now, things seem difficult for the film.
For the unversed, Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is the spiritual sequel of the 2020 release Ginny Weds Sunny, starring Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam. The original film was a direct-to-OTT release, and that itself met with mixed reception.
