The Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 430 crore for the construction of a new bridge over Mir Alam Tank. This crucial infrastructure project aims to connect the Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram to Chintalmet, significantly easing traffic congestion on the NH-44-Chintalmet route.

Project Execution and Oversight

The Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) will be responsible for the project’s expenses and has been directed to initiate the tendering process under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.

Simultaneous Land Acquisition and Construction

A key aspect of the government’s plan is to carry out the project construction simultaneously with land acquisition, aiming to expedite the completion timeline.

To ensure quality and efficient execution, MRDCL will appoint a Project Management Consultant (PMC) through an open tender. The PMC will oversee supervision and quality control throughout the project.

Design Review and Approval

All designs and structural drawings submitted by the EPC contractor must first be approved by the PMC agency. Following this, the designs will undergo a rigorous review by a reputable institution such as IIT Hyderabad, NIT Warangal, or JNTU Hyderabad to ensure their integrity and safety.

The Managing Director of MRDCL has been instructed to take all necessary further actions to move the project forward.
