Hyderabad, October 11: The Begum Bazaar police have arrested Krishnaiah Goud of Nagarkurnool district in connection with the vandalism of a goddess Durga idol reported at a pandal in Exhibition Ground in Nampally.
According to Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav, Krishnaiah Goud’s mental condition is not stable. He confessed that he was hungry and came to the venue in search of food. However, as he couldn’t find any food, he got angry and vandalized the idol and damaged the pandal.

Arrest and Investigation
Six special teams were formed to investigate the case, and Goud was caught while moving suspiciously. The Begum Bazaar police booked cases against Goud and the pandal organizers for not following proper procedure.
The DCP stated that as per rules, someone needs to be available at the pandal round the clock, but this was not the case at the time of the incident. There were no volunteers present.
